Terri Schroeder Smith

Mrs. Smith graduated from Hardin-Jefferson High School in 1996. As a student athlete, she graduated with both academic and athletic honors. She attended Lamar University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology while serving as a paraprofessional at Henderson Middle School from 1996-1999. She also played recreational soccer at Lamar while building their program and was the mascot for the Lady Cardinal Volleyball program.

After receiving her degree and certification, Mrs. Smith began her teaching and coaching career. She has been a teacher of Physical Education, English, College & Careers, Communications, and English Language Arts/Reading. Additionally, she coached volleyball, basketball, tennis, track, powerlifting, softball, and soccer for 17 years. Mrs. Smith retired from coaching in 2013 to spend more time with her children.

In August of 2010, Mrs. Smith graduated with a Master's in Educational Administration from Lamar University and is a certified administrator. Mrs. Smith received her superintendent certification from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2015.

She is currently teaching 8th grade English Language Arts & Reading at the middle school as well as an accredited Leadership course through Texas Association of Secondary School Principals and Texas Association of Student Councils. Mrs. Smith coaches Modern Oratory and Impromptu Speaking for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Academic UIL. She is also the Student Council advisor at HMS and helps with the cheerleaders and mascot.
